The Buffalo Bills are gaining some clarity on the injury status of some of their top defensive players ahead of Sunday's AFC championship.
Safety Taylor Rapp was absent from practice, while cornerback Christian Benford and linebacker Matt Milano were limited participants as they each continue to manage their injuries, Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced Wednesday.
Milano is dealing with hamstring soreness, which kept him out of the final few defensive plays in their victory over the Baltimore Ravens. He made his season debut on Dec. 1 and after shaking off the rust, has been one of the Bills' better performers through two playoff games.
Taylor Rapp is considered day-to-day with a hip injury. The 27-year-old left in the first half against the Ravens after recording an interception.
While he joined practice, Benford remains in concussion protocol after being hurt on Baltimore's onside kick late in the fourth quarter.
The Bills are in Kansas City to face the Chiefs this coming Sunday in the AFC championship. The Chiefs have eliminated the Bills in the playoffs three of the last four years.
