The Buffalo Bills' Von Miller spoke about his knee injury on a stream Tuesday evening, saying that he had suffered a lateral meniscus injury and hopes to be back next week against the New York Jets.
Miller injured his knee in the Bills' Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions and had to be carted off the field. The MRI done on his knee after the game revealed good news, he had managed to avoid a more serious injury.
The extent of the damage suffered to the lateral meniscus in his right knee is still unclear, but Miller stated on the stream that he believes he can "play through that."
"Just going to wait a little bit, let the swelling go down for about seven to 10 days. And hopefully right before the Jets game, I will be back," Miller said.
He expects to miss the game against the New England Patriots on Thursday, however, is optimistic that he'll be able to return to the field in time for next Sunday's game against the division-rival New York Jets.
The Bills have been struggling with injuries on defence all season, with safety Micah Hyde on injured reserve and cornerback Tre'Davious White finally rejoining the fold on Thanksgiving.
They're also already dealing with injuries to fellow defensive ends A.J. Epenesa and Greg Rousseau.
Buffalo will hope that the pass rusher can return before their week 15 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, likely a game that will decide who comes out on top in the AFC East.
