Alex Singleton's sixth NFL season has come to an abrupt end after the Denver Broncos announced the linebacker will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
The 30-year-old had appeared in all three of the Broncos' games to start the season and apparently suffered the injury in the first quarter of Denver's Week 3 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Singleton did not leave the game and logged 10 tackles throughout the contest while playing on all 57 defensive snaps.
The Montana State product leads the Broncos in tackles this year (31) and has led the team in that category for the last two seasons (177, 163). He also logged an interception in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Aside from his tackling production, Singleton has also been a model of consistency playing in every game of the regular season game through the last four seasons.
Prior to his time in the NFL, Singleton polished his resume north of the border in the CFL. Through three seasons, all with the Calgary Stampeders, he earned two All-Star nods, the Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award (2017) and a Grey Cup championship (2018).
The Broncos will return to action without Singleton on Sunday as they visit the New York Jets.
