The Carolina Panthers have released veteran edge rusher Justin Houston, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
The former four-time Pro-Bowler signed a one-year contract with Carolina in the off-season. He appeared in seven games this season for the Panthers, recording half a sack and five tackles before being placed on IR with a hamstring injury.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 34-year-old is looking to continue his career this season on a contending team.
