As if Los Angeles Chargers fans hadn't been tortured enough over recent years, on Saturday night, in their first playoff appearance since 2018, they had to watch their team blow a 27-point lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ouch.
Everything seemed balmy for the Los Angeles squad in the first half, as they forced Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence into four interceptions and took a 27-0 lead with 4:28 remaining in the second quarter.
The Jaguars scored a late touchdown to make it 27-7 heading into halftime, but many around the sports world had already pencilled the Chargers in for the Divisional Round. Not so fast.
Lawrence was a completely different quarterback in the second half, orchestrating three separate touchdown drives before setting his team up for the game-winning kick that sailed through the uprights as time expired.
The 27-point comeback is the third-largest playoff comeback in NFL history.
It was also the first time in NFL playoff history that a team was plus-five in the turnover margin and lost the game.
Look away LA fans: the NFL world had a lot of fun on social media at the Chargers' expense.
It might be time for Chargers fans to turn off their phones, stay off the internet and head to P.F. Chang's.
