The injury bug has struck J.K. Dobbins yet again.
The Los Angeles Chargers placed the running back on injured reserve, sidelining him for at least four games, the team announced Saturday. Dobbins suffered a sprained MCL in a Week 12 loss against the Ravens.
Injuries are unfortunately common for Dobbins. After being selected in the second round of the 2020 draft, the Ohio State product has suffered multiple season-ending injuries.
In the 2021 preseason, Dobbins suffered a gruesome knee injury that caused him to miss the entire campaign. After returning in 2022, he decided to undergo another surgery on the same knee to speed up his process, causing him to miss six games.
Finally healthy for the 2023 season, the 25-year-old tore his Achilles in Week 1, once again forcing him to miss the season.
It's been a resurgent season for Dobbins, who's rushed for 766 yards and eight touchdowns in his first year in LA. He was well on his way to set career highs in yards (805) and TDs (9).
The Chargers also placed safety Alohi Gilman on IR, and signed safety Tony Jefferson to the active roster.
