Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is expected to be cleared in the coming days and return to practice midweek, head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday.
Prescott was injured in Week 1, which required surgery on his thumb, and was initially given a recovery timeline of six to eight weeks. The Cowboys elected not to put Prescott on injured reserve in his absence.
Cooper Rush has filled in for Prescott and led the team to a 4-2 record in his absence. Prescott was limited in practice last week and took the field for warmup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
