Eagles GM Howie Roseman hit by beer can during Super Bowl parade

Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman and Santa Claus now have something in common — they've both been hit by objects thrown by the notoriously rabid fans of the NFL team.

At least Roseman could smile about his gash on his forehead Friday.

The Eagles architect was hit by a beer can thrown by a fan during the team's Super Bowl parade, as confirmed by the NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcast.

Pictures of Roseman's welt began emerging after he was struck, including one of him smoking a cigar.

"I laughed at him a little bit when it happened and I know he's made at me," Eagles defensive lineman Josh Sweat, one of the Super Bowl heroes, told NBC Philadelphia. "... When I saw it, I knew what happened, and I couldn't contain my laugh. ... I did not throw the can at him. Hey, that's part of it. They're throwing full cans and bottles."

Seems likely Roseman will be able to — like Chiefs superfan Taylor Swift encourages — shake it off considering the celebratory circumstances.

"I bleed for this city. Go Eagles," Roseman shouted from the podium during the parade.

No hyperbole there.

School was cancelled across Philadelphia on Friday to allow as many people as possible to honour the team for its decisive win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday's Super Bowl.

The Roseman-designed squad pressured Patrick Mahomes throughout the blowout, resulting in one of the worst games for the Chiefs star quarterback in his career.

Santa Claus, meanwhile, was under the same kind of attack in 1968 at an Eagles game.

On that day, bitter Eagles fans pelted the big man with snowballs at halftime, seemingly in a way to express their displeasure about the team's 2-11 record.

Times sure have changed. The Eagles have won two Super Bowls in the past seven years.
