The Atlanta Falcons have found their replacement for Matt Ryan, agreeing to a two-year deal with quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Mariota joins Atlanta after spending last season with the Las Vegas Raiders as the backup to Derek Carr. He also reunited with Falcons head coach Arthur Smith who was an offensive coach with the Tennessee Titans.

The former No. 2 overall pick was selected by the Titans in 2015 and was eventually benched in favour of Ryan Tannehill in 2019. The 2014 Heisman Trophy winner had his best season in 2016 when he threw for 3,426 yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
