A bad season for the New York Giants just got worse.
Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence is set to miss the remainder of the season after suffering an apparent elbow injury in the team's 27-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys Thursday, head coach Brian Daboll announced.
Lawrence left the Thanksgiving showdown in the third quarter and did not return after dislocating his left elbow. He went to the sideline after the incident and got it popped back in, but soon went back to the team's locker room with a trainer.
Daboll told the media Friday that Lawrence is expected to be out "long-term" and with the Giants only having five games remaining, that spells the end of his 2024 season.
The two-time All-Pro has been one of the bright spots in an otherwise murky Giants season, tallying a team-high 9.0 sacks with eight tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
New York is sitting at 2-10, good for last in the NFC East, and has already been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
