New York teams swept both offensive player of the week awards this week for the first time in eight years, with the Jets' Zach Wilson and Giants' Tommy DeVito earning respective honours for Week 14.
Both quarterbacks led their respective teams to impressive victories as both squads now hold identical 5-8 records.
Wilson, after sitting on the bench for two weeks, made his return against the Houston Texans and led the Jets to a convincing 30-6 victory. He completed 27-of-36 passes and threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns.
The win snapped a five-game losing streak that began right after the Jets snuck out a win against the Giants in overtime on Oct. 29.
DeVito led a game-winning drive in the final 1:33 against the Green Bay Packers to help the Giants secure a 24-22 win. He finished the game with 158 yards (53 yards came in the game-winning drive) passing and one touchdown.
DeVito took over for the Giants in Week 10 and, after losing his first two starts, he's led the team to three consecutive victories.
It's the first time this season a Jets or Giants player has taken home offensive player of the week honours, and the last time it happened in the same week since 2015, when Ryan Fitzpatrick and Eli Manning did it.
