A number of significant players sustained injuries during Week 7 of the NFL season.
Here is a look at some of the most notable updates:
Jets RB Breece Hall out for season with torn ACL
The ascending New York Jets will be without running back Breece Hall for the rest of the season after it was reported that the rookie suffered a torn ACL and a minor meniscus injury in a 16-9 victory against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Hall was carted off the field after taking a hit on a two-yard run late in the second quarter.
The Iowa State University product rushed for a 62-yard touchdown earlier in the contest.
Hall has rushed 80 times for 463 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry this season. He has caught 19 of his 31 targets, good for 218 yards and one touchdown.
Seahawks don't believe DK Metcalf will need knee surgery
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf suffered an injury to his patellar tendon but does not need surgery at this time, according to coach Pete Carroll.
Speaking on his weekly radio show on KIRO-AM on Monday morning, Carroll said the team got a "great report" about Metcalf after he left Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the first half. Metcalf appeared to be hurt leaping for a catch in the end zone late in the first quarter and was immediately ruled out by the team.
X-rays in Los Angeles on Sunday were negative and Metcalf underwent additional scans back in Seattle on Monday morning. Carroll said there is no timeline for Metcalf's potential return.
Metcalf had one catch for 12 yards against the Chargers before getting injured. For the season, Metcalf has 31 receptions for 418 yards and two touchdowns through seven games.
Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis out for season with foot injury
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a Lisfranc foot injury, the team announced Monday.
Lewis suffered the injury while making a crucial interception in the fourth quarter against the Detroit Lions.
Lewis is in his sixth season – all with the Cowboys, who drafted him in the third round in 2017. Sunday's interception was his eighth of his career and fourth since playing in Dan Quinn's defence.
Chargers WR Mike Williams, CB J.C. Jackson exit early against Seahawks
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams and cornerback J.C. Jackson exited midway through the team's 37-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Williams suffered a right ankle injury while Jackson dislocated his right knee.
Head coach Brandon Staley described Jackson's injury as "significant," and it's unclear how long he could be sidelined.
The timetable for Williams' return is still to be determined.
Williams' injury came with 7:20 remaining in the game as he caught a 12-yard pass in traffic. He finished with seven catches for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Jackson injured the knee with 1:40 remaining in the first half as he attempted to defend a 23-yard touchdown pass caught by wide receiver Marquise Goodwin.
Giants TE Daniel Bellinger out indefinitely due to fracture around eye socket
New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger will undergo surgery after suffering a fracture around his eye socket and septum in the team's 23-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Bellinger is out indefinitely and it's uncertain whether he will play again this season.
Bellinger appeared to take an inadvertent fist to the face — and probably a finger to the eye — from Jaguars rookie linebacker Devin Lloyd in the second quarter. Team trainers slipped on gloves to attend to Bellinger's bloody face. He eventually was helped onto a cart and was ruled out after leaving the stadium for further evaluation. He was scheduled to fly back home with the team.
Bellinger was taken to a hospital after sustaining the injury but returned in time to celebrate the Giants' win with coaches and teammates.
Bills' Leslie Frazier on CB Tre'Davious White's return: 'Doesn't seem like we're that far away'
Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier had some encouraging words when speaking of cornerback Tre'Davious White's potential return to the lineup, saying it "doesn't seem like we're that far away."
Frazier added they are deferring to the doctors and want to see how the week goes.
White was placed on the Reserve/PUP list on Aug. 30 due to a torn ACL suffered last year against the New Orleans Saints and has yet to play a game this season.
