As Los Angeles continues to battle the largest wildfires in the city's history, the National Football League has outlined its plans for an upcoming playoff game featuring the Rams.
The Rams are set to host the Minnesota Vikings at Sofi Stadium on Monday night and the league says it intends to play the game in Los Angeles. However, the NFL said that if relocation were necessary, the game would be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
"The NFL's priority is the safety of the Los Angeles community," the league said in a statement while thanking first responders. "We will continue to closely monitor developments in the area and will remain in contact with public officials, both clubs and the NFLPA."
The Associated Press reported that five people had died and more than 1,000 structures had been destroyed in the wildfires, which were fuelled by powerful winds on Tuesday.
The NHL postponed Wednesday night's game between the Kings and Calgary Flames in response to the fires. In a statement to ESPN's Shams Charania, the NBA said it was continuing to monitor the situation ahead of Thursday's game between the Lakers and Hornets.
