'Play of the year': Canadian Jevon Holland makes wild pick-six for Dolphins

The New York Jets were playing like the, ummm, New York Jets — and Canadian Jevon Holland took full advantage.

In a spectacular play to end the first half of the NFL's first Black Friday game, the Miami Dolphins safety intercepted a Tim Boyle Hail Mary and returned it 99 yards for a pick-six to put the visitors up 17-6 on the offensively inept Jets at the break.

Holland was born in Coquitlam, B.C., in 2000 while his father Robert was playing for the B.C. Lions.

The family later moved to California. Jevon played college football at Oregon and was the highest Canadian selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, going in the second round (36th overall).

Holland has been a starter for almost his entire run in Miami. He did suffer a knee injury late in the fourth quarter of the one-sided game against the Jets and did not return.

Here's a look at some reactions to Holland's big play.
