• Report: Chargers sign safety Elijah Molden to three-year contract

The Los Angeles Chargers are getting an early start on their free agency plans.

Per NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the team has re-signed starting safety Elijah Molden to a three-year deal. Los Angeles acquired the defensive back last pre-season.

Molden, 26, enjoyed his best season in his lone year as a Charger. The 2021 third-round pick by the Titans recorded three interceptions, 75 tackles and made 12 starts, all career bests.

Prior to the signing, the Chargers had over $65 million in cap space, good for the fourth most in the NFL. The new league year begins March 12.
