Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is "highly unlikely" to play again this season because of a high-ankle sprain sustained during Saturday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
Taylor caught one pass for 13 yards and was in the Colts' historic loss to the Vikings for just two snaps before exiting with the injury.
The 23-year-old has rushed for 861 yards on 192 attempts with four touchdowns this season and has caught 28 passes for 143 yards. He had already missed three games this year with an injury to the same ankle.
Just one season ago, Taylor finished second in voting for offensive player of the year and made the Pro Bowl. He finished 2021-22 with 1,811 yards and 18 touchdowns on 332 carries.
The Colts, now 4-9-1 in 2022, will likely feature Zack Moss in the backfield, who took on the majority of the rushing duties against the Vikings, rushing for 81 yards on 24 carries.
Indianapolis plays at home against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, Dec. 26.
