Report: Former Colts LB Shaq Leonard to meet with Cowboys, Eagles

Less than a week after being waived by the Indianapolis Colts, linebacker Shaquille Leonard is visiting the Dallas Cowboys and plans to meet with the Philadelphia Eagles as well, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

After spending all six of his NFL seasons with the Colts, it appears the three-time all-pro's search for a new home will begin in Dallas.

If Leonard were to join the 8-3 Cowboys, he'd be slotting into an already formidable defence that allows the second fewest total yards (1,839) and third fewest yards per game (276.3) through 12 weeks. Dallas is also top-five in total interceptions (12) and sacks (37).

Meanwhile, the other NFC East team supposedly in contention for Leonard could use his services a bit more. Despite being 10-1, the Eagles' defence has left a bit to be desired, as they're ranked 20th in the NFL. Philadelphia allows over 340 yards a game, has allowed the fifth-most total yards (2,813) this season, and is tied for the second-most touchdowns (23) allowed.

The surprise move from Indianapolis came after Leonard complained publicly about a decrease in playing time.

Through 70 career games, the 2018 defensive rookie of the year has racked up 15 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, and 12 interceptions.
