Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has reportedly suffered a sprained right shoulder in his team's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Monday.
According to Rapoport, it's still unclear how severe the injury is and whether or not he'll be sidelined for their Week 17 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Lawrence left the game against the Buccaneers after the third quarter and was replaced with C.J. Beathard. He had thrown for 211 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions up to that point.
The Jaguars (8-7) are currently sitting as the fourth seed in the AFC with two weeks to go before the playoffs. They're in a three-way tie record-wise with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans for the division lead in the AFC South but hold the tie-breaker over both teams.
However, they're in the midst of a four-game losing streak, having dropped games to the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens and now the Buccaneers.
The third-year QB has had a solid season, throwing for 3736 yards with 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while scoring four rushing touchdowns.
Despite starting all 15 games, Lawrence has dealt with a plethora of injuries other than this most recent shoulder sprain. Ahead of the game against Tampa Bay, Lawrence spent the week in the NFL's concussion protocol. He has also dealt with knee and ankle injuries this season but has always returned in time to appear for his next start.
The 24-year-old QB has yet to miss a start in his three-year career.
