Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has restructured his contract to play with the team for the 2023 season and foreseeable future, his agent Peter Schaffer has told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
“Joe’s goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals,” said Schaffer.
Mixon was initially due for $10.1 million in the upcoming campaign with a $12.79 million cap hit, but the new deal will free up cash and cap space for the Bengals, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The 2021 Pro-Bowler ran for 814 yards and seven touchdowns on 210 attempts during the 2022 season. He also caught 60 passes for 441 yards and two scores.
