Report: Packers open to moving CB Jaire Alexander

The Green Bay Packers could be set to cash in on one of their better defensive pieces.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Packers have had trade conversations centred around cornerback Jaire Alexander and are open to moving him if the price is right.

Alexander, a two-time Pro Bowler, has struggled with injuries in recent years, having only suited up for seven games each of the last two seasons. He had two interceptions and one fumble recovery last year while allowing a 56.7 competition percentage on passes defended.

The 28-year-old last had a healthy season in 2022 when he picked off five passes and earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honours.

Since being drafted 18th overall by the Packers out of Louisville in 2018, Alexander has 12 interceptions, two fumble recoveries and has a career 57.8 completion percentage in passes defended.

Alexander has two years and $37 million left in a four-year, $84 million contract he signed in 2022.
