Add Josh Jacobs to the list of NFL running backs not happy with their current contract situation.
According to a report from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Las Vegas Raiders star running back won't report to the team's training camp as he looks for a long-term deal.
Pelissero also reported that Jacobs was spotted getting on a flight leaving the city of Las Vegas and the star running back doesn't have plans to return to the team "anytime soon."
The Raiders applied the franchise tag to Jacobs earlier this off-season, which would see the Alabama product earn $10.091 million over the 2023-24 season. However, Jacobs has not officially signed his tender and therefore will not be subject to fines for missing camp.
Jacobs carried the Raiders' offence last season, leading the league with 1,653 yards rushing last season as the Raiders went 6-11.
He is the latest example of the changing climate for running backs, who have gone from a prominent position of being able to help lead teams to Super Bowls to an expendable spot where workhorse backs are less valued.
New York Giants star Saquon Barkley, who also had the franchise tag applied to him, is also not reporting to camp as he looks to secure a new deal.
