Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery to address a high ankle sprain, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday.
The Rams placed Kupp on the Injured Reserve list on Tuesday.
Kupp sustained the injury last Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals when he went down awkwardly while being hit by Marco Wilson after failing to catch a pass from backup quarterback John Wolford in the fourth quarter.
The 29-year-old stayed down on the sideline and was attended to by trainers before hopping to the bench without putting any weight on his leg. He was eventually able to walk back to the locker room with 12:44 to play and did not return.
Kupp currently is second in the NFL with 75 catches, while his 812 yards receiving and six TD receptions are fifth.
The reigning Super Bowl champions enter Sunday's matchup against the New Orleans Saints with a 3-6 record.
