• Report: Rams trade OL Jonah Jackson to Bears for sixth-round pick

Quarterback Caleb Williams is finally getting some help on the offensive line.

The Los Angeles Rams have traded offensive lineman Jonah Jackson to the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick, ESPN's Adam Schefter and Courtney Cronin reported Tuesday.

According to Schefter, the Rams will not retain any of Jackson's $17.5 million salary this upcoming season, making him the most expensive piece on the Bears' front-five.

A one-time Pro Bowler in 2021, Jackson signed a three-year, $51 million deal with the Rams ahead of the 2024 season after spending his first four seasons with the Detroit Lions.

He now rejoins coach Ben Johnson in Chicago, who was his offensive coordinator with the Lions in 2022 and 2023. Johnson was hired to become the head coach of the Bears at the end of the 2024 season.

Jackson struggled with injuries last season, suiting up for only four games with the Rams after injuring his shoulder in training camp and re-aggravating the issue in Week 2 of the regular season. He returned in Week 9 but was benched and didn't start again until Week 18.

The Rams granted Jackson permission to seek a trade last week, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

The rookie Williams struggled mightily behind a porous offensive line in Chicago last season, as the Bears gave up 68 sacks — the most in the NFL.
