The Baltimore Ravens will seemingly have to advance in the playoffs to get their star tight end back.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Ravens star Mark Andrews is not expected to be activated for Saturday's tilt against the Houston Texans.
Andrews returned to practice last week, and logged full participation on Wednesday and Thursday, leading to speculation that he could be good to go as the Ravens prepare for their playoff debut. However, it appears he's not quite ready yet, and Baltimore will have to advance to the AFC Championship to see their tight end return.
Andrews has been out of action since Week 11, when he underwent surgery for a high-ankle sprain and a fracture fibula. The 28-year-old had 45 catches for 544 yards and six touchdowns in 10 games this season before going down with injury.
Isaiah Likely will continue as the No. 1 tight end in the depth chart, a role that he has done an admiral job in. He's recorded 21 catches for 322 yards and four touchdowns since filling in for Andrews.
The Ravens have dealt with injuries all year long, but it hasn't slowed them down, as they finished the regular season with a 13-4 record — the No. 1 seed in the AFC — and will now host a divisional playoff game against rookie phenom C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans.
