It appears Derek Carr's 2024 season is likely done with the New Orleans Saints quarterback still working his way back from a fractured left hand.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Carr had more tests done on his hand and is at least a few weeks away from being able to withstand contact.
Given that there are just three weeks left in the season, Carr's return is seen as very unlikely.
The injury occurred when he tried to leap over a New York Giants tackler and landed at the New Orleans 39-yard line, extending his non-throwing hand to break his fall. He was on the turf for a minute or two before walking to the medical tent.
The Saints have struggled to a 5-9 record this season with Carr throwing for 2,145 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions in 10 games and his best quarterback rating (101.0) since 2020.
