Report: Saints QB Derek Carr's season in jeopardy with shoulder injury

Derek Carr can't escape his injury woes.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback is dealing with a shoulder injury that is threatening his availability for next season, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport added that Carr is considering multiple options, including surgery.

The 34-year-old Carr missed the final seven games last season after fracturing his non-throwing hand.

Carr signed a four-year, $150-million deal with New Orleans prior to the 2023 season. In two seasons with the Saints, the Fresno State product owns a 14-13 record while throwing for 6,023 yards, 40 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

New Orleans selected QB Spencer Rattler in the fifth round of the 2024 draft, and has been linked to the position with the ninth-overall selection in the upcoming draft.

Now with Carr's availability in question, the Saints have to find an answer for the most important position in the sport.
