Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is expected to play in Thursday night's division clash with the San Fransisco 49ers, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Wednesday.
The Seahawks are listing the veteran quarterback as questionable with a right arm contusion.
Running back Kenneth Walker III is listed as doubtful with an oblique injury and Carroll told reporters they do not expect him to play.
Both players were injured in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Smith left the game in the second half after taking a big hit from Aaron Donald as he released a pass late in the third quarter.
The 33-year-old signal caller sat for the first two drives of the fourth quarter while Drew Lock took over. But Smith returned for Seattle’s final drive and got the Seahawks into field-goal position, but kicker Jason Myers missed from 55 yards in the closing seconds.
Seattle currently sits second in the NFC West with a 6-4 record, one game behind the 49ers who are atop the division at 7-3. A win in Thursday's American Thanksgiving showdown would vault Smith and the Seahawks into a tie for the division lead.
