Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is telling people close to him that he expects this to be his final season in the NFL, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
The 39-year-old Roethlisberger is in the final year of his contract.
The six-time Pro Bowler is eighth in career touchdown passes (410), sixth in passing yards (62,870) and fifth in wins (161).
Roethlisberger led the Steelers to Super Bowl wins in 2006 and 2008.
This year, the Steelers are in a tight AFC playoff race at 5-5-1.
