The Minnesota Vikings are using everything within in their means to gain an advantage against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the organization purchased roughly 1,900 tickets for the pivotal road game on the secondary market, for a total of approaching $2 million.
The team then emailed season ticket holders, offering them the chance to attend the game for as little as $200 per ticket — an 80 per cent discount from the purchase price of about $1,000 per ticket.
The winner of the game will win both the NFC North and the coveted first seed in the NFC, giving them a first-round bye in the playoffs.
The Lions flagged the transaction, and contacted the NFL, but were told that the Vikings did not break any league rules by purchasing the tickets, according to Breer.
