The Arizona Cardinals could be looking to take advantage of a few teams trying to jump up in the 2023 NFL Draft.
NFL Network’s draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah reported that there are a couple of teams to keep an eye on who are interested in the third-overall pick.
"Can I give you the team that I have been told to keep an eye on that's exploring this and looking into this?" Jeremiah said on his "Move The Sticks" podcast. "Again, this is just people around the league who said do not sleep on Numero 11. The Tennessee Titans. The two teams to keep an eye on with the trade-ups were the (Las Vegas) Raiders and the Titans."
With the Cardinals getting Kyler Murray locked into a five-year contract extension, the team is looking to acquire more assets with a pick that the Titans and Raiders would reportedly use on a quarterback.
The Titans currently have Ryan Tannehill under contract for one more season with a cap hit of $36.6 million. Tennessee also drafted Malik Willis in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft but he struggled in the games he played throwing only one touchdown in three starts.
Las Vegas owns the seventh-overall pick in the draft and could look to find their quarterback of the future. Jimmy Garoppolo agreed to terms with the Raiders on a three-year deal worth up to $72.5 million to replace Derek Carr.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Kentucky quarterback Will Levis visited the Raiders' practice facility. With a few teams looking to draft a quarterback, the Raiders could move up to get the player they want.
If the Cardinals do move on from the third-overall pick, they would be the second team to trade down after the Carolina Panthers made a deal with the Chicago Bears for first overall.
Arizona is also looking to move on from DeAndre Hopkins but teams have not been willing to pay the steep price for the Cardinals are looking for.
