Recently retired football superstar Tom Brady is in talks to become a limited partner with the Las Vegas Raiders, Seth Wickersham and Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Friday.
This would be the second time Brady and Raiders Mark Davis partner on a sports franchise in Sin City. In March, the seven-time Super Bowl champion purchased a stake in the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA.
Wickersham and Schefter further reported that the talks have been ongoing for weeks but that Brady's interest in the venture is "passive."
Should Brady invest in the Raiders, at least 24 team owners will need to vet and approve the process.
Brady had similar talks to become limited partner with the Miami Dolphins in 2021 and 2022. However, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross was suspended and fined $1.5 million and the team had to relinquish its first-round pick in the 2023 Draft for having breached the NFL's anti-tampering policy.
