Through the first four weeks of the 2023 NFL season, the winless Chicago Bears seemed hopeless.
To punctuate the team's September of sorrow was a 31-28 Week 4 loss to the also winless Denver Broncos, in which the Bears gave up a 28-7 second-half lead.
But on Thursday night, wide receiver D.J. Moore and quarterback Justin Fields led the team to a 40-20 blowout road win over the Washington Commanders, breathing new life into what looked like another lost season.
Moore, who Chicago acquired from the Carolina Panthers in an off-season deal that sent the 2023 No. 1 overall pick the other way, exploded for eight receptions, 230 yards and three touchdowns.
Fields threw the ball with confidence all night, completing 15 of his 29 passes for 282 yards and four scores, good for a 125.3 quarterback rating.
Bears fans and fantasy football managers alike were rewarded greatly, and both took to social media to bask in the glory.
