Chiefs’ Pacheco leaves stadium on crutches after suffering ankle injury

The Kansas City Chiefs left Arrowhead Stadium with a crucial victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, but it came at the cost of an injury to running back Isiah Pacheco.

The 25-year-old left the game during the final drive of the game after getting his lower leg caught underneath a defender on a tackle.

After the game, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Pacheco was getting his ankle evaluated.

“The only major injury would be Pacheco, with his ankle,” Reid told reporters. “We’ll just have to see, he’s having some tests done on it now, X-rays, all that stuff, so I don’t have anything for you [about] exactly what it is, but he came out with the ankle.”

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reports that he was also seen leaving the stadium on crutches and in a walking boot.

Pacheco finished the game with 19 carries for 90 yards while securing all five of his targets for 21 yards.
