Eagles’ Julio Jones promoted to active roster, expected to play vs. Dolphins

The Philadelphia Eagles have elevated wide receiver Julio Jones from their practice roster and he is expected to play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the team announced Saturday.

Jones spent the 2022 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before becoming a free agent. The Eagles signed the seven-time Pro Bowler to a one-year deal on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old receiver caught 24 of his 43 targets for 299 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games during the 2022 season.

Jones made a name for himself with the Atlanta Falcons, who selected him sixth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. He became the Falcons’ franchise receiving leader, with 848 receptions for 12,896 yards in 135 games with Atlanta.

Jones and the 5-1 Eagles will take on the 5-1 Dolphins in the marquee matchup of Week 7 on Sunday.
