A new dynasty has been established.

Knocking off the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime to win Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs are champions once again.

The victory marks Kansas City’s third title in the last five years and its fourth title in franchise history. The Chiefs are also the first back-to-back champions since the New England Patriots won in 2003 and ’04.

While the game started off slowly, things eventually heated up, and the two teams headed into overtime tied at 19-19. After the 49ers settled for a 27-yard field goal on the first possession, Patrick Mahomes hit Mecole Hardman for a three-yard TD pass to win it on the second possession of overtime.

Mahomes, unsurprisingly, was awarded MVP honours for the third time.

With social media erupting after the wild finish, here’s a look at some reactions to the Chiefs running the championship back for another year and Mahome’s heroics to help seal the deal.

And of course, with Taylor Swift in attendance to support Travis Kelce, the pop star got plenty of shoutouts on social media after her boyfriend’s big win.

The pair began publicly dating around the beginning of the football season and the Super Bowl was the 13th game Swift appeared at — a number every Swiftie knows the relevancy of.

After performing in Japan on Saturday as part of her Eras Tour, Swift flew halfway around the world to make it to Las Vegas in time. She watched the game in a suite with several other celebrity pals, as well as both her and Kelce’s families.

Kelce joins Swift in the winner’s circle after the singer made history at the Grammys last Sunday. “I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with hardware, too,” Kelce said after Swift received four awards for her album ‘Midnights’.

And that’s just what happened.
