Rams WR Puka Nacua exits vs. Lions with knee injury

Puka Nacua’s sophomore season is off to an unfortunate start.

The Rams star receiver, who finished as runner-up for offensive rookie of the year last season, exited Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Lions with a knee injury and will not return.

Nacua injured himself on a catch in the second quarter. He did initially come back in after suffering the injury, but then immediately returned to the sideline. He was carted off the field as the Rams went in for halftime.

The BYU product had four catches for 35 yards before he was forced to leave.

Last season, Nacua took advantage of a hamstring injury to Cooper Kupp in training camp last season to set the stage for a breakout rookie season, finishing with 105 catches for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns after being drafted in the fifth round.

With his stellar first year, Nacua set new rookie receiving records for both yards and receptions.
