The Los Angeles Chargers have placed defensive end Joey Bosa on injured reserve with a foot injury, the team announced on Wednesday.
Bosa, a four-time Pro Bowler, had to be carted off the field after suffering the injury early in the Chargers’ 23-30 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 19. He was seen with a walking boot and using crutches while on the sidelines throughout the second half.
One of the league’s premier edge rushers, Bosa has racked up six-and-a-half sacks through nine games played this season. The injury comes after he missed 12 games last season with a torn groin muscle, and had been dealing with a knee issue earlier this year.
The Chargers currently sit at the bottom of the AFC West with a 4-6 record and will take on the 8-3 Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
