Report: Lions WR Jameson Williams suspended two games

The Detroit Lions will be down an offensive weapon for the next two weeks.

According to a report from ESPN’s Eric Woodyard on Monday, Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has been suspended two games for violating the NFL’s Performance-Enhancing Substances policy.

Through Detroit’s first six games of the season, Williams has 17 receptions for 361 yards and three touchdowns.

This will be the second time the 23-year-old WR has been suspended in his career, as he was also suspended for the first four games of last season for betting on NFL games in the 2022 season.

Williams told Woodyard that he’s disappointed with this season’s suspension, but has “no choice but to take it on the chin.”

“I’m in good spirits, just ready to get back with my brothers ASAP,” Williams told ESPN.

The Lions have started the season 5-1 and are tied for the NFC North division lead with the Minnesota Vikings.
