Report: Rams shopping Cooper Kupp ahead of deadline

The season has not gone as planned for the Los Angeles Rams and now they appear to be shopping a superstar ahead of the trade deadline.

Dianna Russini, Mike Silver and Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reported Tuesday that “the Rams have called multiple teams” about possible trades involving wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

“The Rams have indicated a willingness to take on some of the ‘24 salary and are seeking a second-round pick,” the report added.

The Rams are last in the NL West at 2-4 ahead of a Week 8 meeting with the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football. Injuries have been an issue all season for the Rams. Kupp has appeared in only two games due to an injury but is on track to play in the Vikings game.

Kupp, 31, has spent his entire eight-year career with the Rams and was the Super Bowl MVP in 2022. That same season he won the Offensive Player of the Year Award and finished third in MVP voting when he collected 1,947 receiving yards and caught 16 touchdowns.

Kupp has been limited to just 23 games in the two-and-a-half seasons since winning the Super Bowl. Last year, in 12 games, he collected just 737 receiving yards, the second-fewest of his career. This season in two games he has 147 yards and one touchdown.

Kupp is under contract through the 2026 season, according to Spotrac.
