Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Strome has been fined $5,000 for cross-checking Tye Kartye of the Seattle Kraken, the NHL’s department of player safety announced Friday.
The fine is the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The incident occurred 4:50 into the third period of Thursday’s game. Strome received a two-minute penalty for cross-checking while Kartye also went to the box for roughing.
Kartye scored the go-ahead goal with 6:57 remaining in the period as the Kraken completed a 4-2 comeback victory.
It was the 10th loss in the past 11 games for the slumping Ducks, who are 14th in the Western Conference with a 24-45-4 record.
