Anaheim Ducks coach Greg Cronin has been fined $25,000 by the NHL for "unprofessional conduct" after an incident Monday in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Cronin was issued a game misconduct at 19:25 of the second period and tossed after he appeared incensed that a goal scored by the Ducks had been overturned due to goaltender interference. The team challenged the call, but video review upheld the no-goal call, at which point Cronin went ballistic.
Previously assessed a two-minute minor for delay of game after an unsuccessful coaches challenge, Cronin received a two-minute bench minor for unsportsmanlike conduct in addition to his ejection.
The Ducks were able to rally to win, 4-3, as assistant coaches Brent Thompson and David Rook remained behind the bench.
