Maxime Comtois is expected to become an unrestricted free agent as the left-winger is unlikely to receive a qualifying offer from the Anaheim Ducks, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old was drafted by the Ducks with the 50th-overall pick in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft and has played in 210 games, registering 86 points.
The Anaheim Ducks would have to present Comtois with a $2.44 million qualifying offer to keep him as a restricted free agent, according to CapFriendly.com, something they are reportedly unlikely to do.
