The Arizona Coyotes have signed general manager Bill Armstrong to a multi-year contract extension, the club announced Wednesday.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed, although Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reported that the deal was an extension through the 2028-29 season.
Armstrong, 53, has been the Coyotes GM since Sept. 17, 2020. As an assistant GM and director of scouting for St. Louis, Armstrong had a direct hand in building the Blues' 2019 Stanley Cup champion.
Armstrong has seen a lot in his short time as NHL GM: The Coyotes were kicked out of their rink in Glendale after the 2021-23 season and played last season – and the foreseeable future – at the 4,700-seat capacity Mullett Arena on the grounds of Arizona State University.
The Coyotes are 111-116-17 and have missed the playoffs all three years Armstrong has been GM.
