Dallas Stars head coach Pete DeBoer said Joe Pavelski will travel with the team and be a game-time decision for Friday's Game 6 against the Minnesota Wild.
Pavelski hasn't played since he was injured on a hard hit by Matt Dumba in Game 1. He re-joined his teammates for practice Tuesday but was not in the lineup for the 4-0 win in Game 5 that put the Stars up 3-2 in the series.
The 38-year-old Pavelski had 28 goals and 77 points in 88 games this season.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe said he will be keeping the same lineup in tact for Thursday's Game 5, meaning forward Michael Bunting will be a healthy scratch.
"He will get back in. It’s just not going to be tomorrow," Keefe said after Wednesday's practice.
Bunting was seen at practice wearing a white jersey which is reserved for players who play in the bottom six. The team also had no players wearing grey jerseys which is usually reserved for extra skaters who aren't expected to play.
Once practice started, Bunting was taking part as an extra skater with Wayne Simmonds, according to Sportsnet's Luke Fox.
Another change was Matthew Knies skating in the top six on a line with John Tavares and Mitch Marner. The rookie earned the trust of his head coach who said that Knies would not be taken out of the lineup for Bunting.
The team also had Victor Mete on the ice at practice along with goaltender Matt Murray who joined the main group.
Patrice Bergeron will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's Game 5, according to Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery.
The Bruins captain will take part in warmup after taking part in the team's optional morning skate. Boston can eliminate the Florida Panthers with a win on home ice Wednesday night.
Bergeron left the season finale against the Montreal Canadiens with an injury and has not yet played in the Panther series. Bergeron skated on the top line with Tyler Bertuzzi and Brad Marchand during practice on Tuesday.
David Krejci skated on his own again Wednesday. He has already been ruled out for Game 5 but could return if the series needs a Game 6.
Florida Panthers Paul Maurice had no updates on any lineup changes or who would be the starting goaltender for Game 5.
Star defenceman Aaron Ekblad and scoring-winger Anthony Duclair were full participants in practice on Tuesday and Maurice said both players would return.
The big decision looming is whether Maurice will go with Sergei Bobrovsky between the pipes or turn back to Alex Lyon. Bobrovsky started Game 4 allowing five goals on 30 shots after replacing Lyon in Game 3.
