The Wild will have both Kirill Kaprizov and Gustav Nyquist with them when they travel to Pittsburgh for Thursday's game against the Penguins, though only for the morning skate.
The chances are better that one of the two could play Saturday at home against the Blues, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic.
Kaprizov, who has 39 goals and 35 assists this season, has not played since suffering a lower-body injury on March 8 against the Jets.
Nyquist has yet to play for the Wild, since being traded by Columbus on Feb. 28.
Taylor Hall was a full participant at practice on Wednesday and is nearing a return, but is not likely to be in the lineup Thursday against the Maple Leafs.
Hall last played on Feb. 25 and has been dealing with a lower-body injury.
"It's nice to be skating with the guys, there's still some steps and conversations before I'm fully playing," Hall said. "Just taking it step by step."
Additionally, centre David Krejci is questionable for the Maple Leafs game with a lower-body injury.
The Los Angeles Kings recalled Jordan Spence from the AHL on an emergency basis Tuesday.
Spence will aid a defence corps missing Alex Edler and Mikey Anderson, who are both out day-to-day.
The Australian-born defenseman has four goals and 42 points in 53 games this season with the King's AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign.
Spence has one point in five NHL games this year.
The Kings play Vegas on Thursday with a chance to draw within two points against the division-leading Golden Knights.
St. Louis Blues coach Craig Berube said Wednesday that winger Pavel Buchnevich will be back in the lineup Thursday to face his former team, the New York Rangers.
Buchnevich, who has struggled with injuries this season, is second on the Blues, with 25 goals and 41 assists for 66 points in 59 games. His most recent absence of four games was because of an upper-body injury.
Robert Thomas and Robert Bortuzzo remain sidelined with upper-body injuries for the Blues and will not suit up against the Rangers.
Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice said Wednesday that goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and forward Sam Bennett are "both doing better" as they recover from injuries.
Maurice said that Bobrovsky, who has missed four straight games with an illness, was expected to skate on Wednesday. Maurice added that Bennett, sidelined for the last eight games with an undisclosed injury, is expected to take the ice on Thursday.
