Auston Matthews recorded his sixth hat trick of the season, and second in three games, in the Toronto Maple Leafs' game Saturday night against the Anaheim Ducks.
The hat trick came in the first 25:39 of the game, the first opening the scoring at 3:41 of the first with assists going to Mitch Marner and Matthew Knies, the second coming on the power play off assists by Marner and William Nylander, the third coming with the help of Knies and Jake McCabe.
Nylander also had a milestone of his own during the game, recording point No. 500 on his first-period power-play goal that ramped the score up to 4-1 for the Leafs.
Matthews' pursuit of 50 goals seems to be well within his grasp, as his third goal of the night was No. 48 on the season.
