Colorado Avalanche goaltender Pavel Francouz will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season due to a lower-body injury, the team announced Sunday.
According to the club, Francouz is returning to Czechia to be with his family.
The 33-year-old had not yet played this season. His last game was back on April 9.
Over 16 appearances over the 2022-23 season, Francouz recorded an 8-7-1 record with a 2.61 goals-against average and .915 save percentage.
In the last year of his two-year, $4-million contract, the goaltender is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season.
