The Colorado Avalanche are adding some experience to their defence corps.
Colorado announced Monday that it has signed defenceman Calvin de Haan to a one-year contract.
The 33-year-old played in 59 games last season for the Tampa Bay Lightning and scored three goals and 10 points. He also skated in one playoff game during Tampa Bay's first-round series loss to the Florida Panthers.
The Carp, Ont. native has played in 12 NHL seasons, spending time with the Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes and Chicago Blackhawks.
