Avalanche's Kuemper returns as backup for Game 4 vs. Oilers

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Darcy Kuemper has returned to the lineup as backup to Pavel Francouz for Game 4 of the Western Conference Final on Monday against the Edmonton Oilers.

Kuemper missed the last two gamaes with a lower-body injury sustained in Game 1 and the Avalanche turned to Francouz, who recorded his first career playoff shutout and his fourth win of the 2022 playoffs in Game 2 and then won again in Game 3.

Francouz started 18 games in the regular season and posted a .916 save percentage and 2.55 goals against average.

During the regular season, Kuemper played 57 games with a .921 save percentage and 2.54 goals-against average. He has played 10 games this post-season, posting an .897 save percentage and 2.65 goals-against average.
