Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Jake McCabe underwent cervical spine surgery and is expected to be out for 10 to 12 weeks, the team announced Tuesday.
McCabe joined the Blackhawks last off-season on a four-year, $16-million contract after playing the first eight seasons of his NHL career with the Buffalo Sabres.
In 2021-22, the 28-year-old produced four goals and 18 assists in 75 games.
The Blackhawks also announced that Jalen Luypen, a 2021 seventh-round pick, will be out 14 to 18 weeks after having his rotator cuff repaired.
